Great Wave Earrings

Hokusai's woodblock print The Great Wave came from a long Japanese tradition of stylizing natural phenomena. From the 12th century onwards the wave was used as a crest motif with the implication that the movement of the waves with their constant ebb and flow embodied the essence of great strategy.
